Three apologies are in order. In ascending order of gravity.

First one is to M. Sarkozy. I never thought La France would go so low. But 53% of the French seem happy with a Clintonesque processed cheese a la Reaganite for president. So we’ll have to wait and see next five years of neo-liberte, inegalite, and anything but fraternite (except with l’etat hebreu that is).

Speaking of fraternity, my second act of contrition goes to the (Lead) Honourable Sheikh Jassim Al-Saeedi. I thought and spoke ill of him before. But he is nobler, gentler and of sodignified and respected stature; he qualifies for dispensation from the strict standards to lead a prayer in Shia jurisprudence (viz Tahrir Al-Waseelah):

فلا تجوز الصلاة خلف الفاسق و لا مجهول الحال ، و هى حالة نفسانية باعثة على ملازمة التقوى مانعة عن ارتكاب الكبائر .......، و هى كثيرة : منها اليأس من روح الله ، و الامن من مكره و الكذب عليه أو على رسوله و أوصيائه ( ع ) و قتل النفس التى حرمها الله إلا بالحق ، و عقوق الوالدين ، و أكل مال اليتيم ظلما ، و قذف المحصنة ، و الفرار من الزحف ، و قطيعة الرحم ، و السحر ، و الزنا ،اللواط ، و السرقة ، و اليمين الغموس ، و كتمان الشهادة ، و شهادة الزور ، و نقض العهد ، و الحيف فى الوصية ، و شرب الخمر ، و أكل الربا ، و أكل السحت ، و القمار ، و أكل الميتة و الدم و لحم الخنزير و ما أهل لغير الله من غير ضرورة ، و البخس فى المكيال و الميزان ، و التعرب بعد الهجرة ، و معونة الظالمين ، و الركون إليهم ، و حبس الحقوق من غير عذر ، و الكذب ، و الكبر ، و الاسراف ، و التبذير ، و الخيانة ، و الغيبة ، و النميمة ، و الاشتغال بالملاهى ، و الاستخفاف بالحج ، و ترك الصلاة ، و منع الزكاة ، و الاصرار على الصغائر من الذنوب.

In fact, joining him would serve the highest calling for any collective prayer:

الخوئي : منها إظهار الوحدة في صفوف المسلمين و الله العالم.

Other than having to quote the above, my last and and certainly deepest apology goes to the reader of this blog (that boils pretty much to me) for once comparing the subjugation on this island to that of the African Americans. That's a grand error on my part. Rosa Parks may have refused to move to the back of the bus, but apparently so called leaders of the community rush themselves to the back of the bus, or out of the bus bus- stops. It’s not called an inferiority complex for nothing.

As for the questioning of Atteyatullah? Are you kidding? Holders of back-of-the-coach tickets don’t get to question the driver/s, let alone the routes rules of the bus company.
