As-Sayab was here

As-Sayab on operation shock and awe:

I can almost hear Iraq hoarding thunder
And storing lightning in mountains and plains
So that when men unleash their seals
The gales will leave no trace of Thamud
In the valley.

And on its aftermath:

I can almost hear the palm trees drinking rain,
And I hear the villages moaning
And the migrants battling with sail and oar
Against the storms of the Gulf
Chanting:
Rain,
Rain,
Rain.

(from The song of Rain).
